annals of writing anxiety
-drowning in one-liners, grasping for a plot
-decide i don’t care for plot, prioritize one-liners
-list defense mechanisms, consider this one
-well it’s gotten me this far, can’t be too bad
-and that’s another one
-hate when people say characters aren’t ‘realistic’—that is a lazy criticism. how many people do you know? what percentage of people do you actually know? you cannot judge this, so find something else and aim for precision, everyone, please.
-love the line from Alice, “You can’t be a writer; you’re not psychological at all.”
-one thing about publishing that scares me is the notion that someone will steal my writing style and personality. because people are vampyric and scared of themselves so they merge with others. i don’t merge unless i’m compelled. but maybe some people are just compelled more. i do hate experiential tourists, and we can never be close friends. but must realize if you publish enough, what is yours will become just that. also i’ve had this fear since i was very young, many others have it, it is listed in books and not original.
-resentment, so inspiring for some people.
